The Power of Moving Together

For someone living with dementia, the world can slowly feel like it's shrinking. Isolation creeps in, and ordinary social spaces can become overwhelming.

But music and dance change everything.

Music taps into parts of the brain untouched by dementia. It sparks memories, unlocks spontaneous joy and breaks through isolation. We Dance Against Dementia because movement is medicine, and every dollar you raise funds Umbrella Dementia Cafés. These are warm, multigenerational peer-support spaces where individuals with dementia and their families can step out of the isolation and into a community that truly understands, accepts, and celebrates them.

 How your fundraising helps

Every dollar you raise will help empower people living with dementia.

Umbrella Dementia Cafés™ are a network of informal community peer support groups, called 'cafés', designed to improve the social health and well-being of people living in the community with dementia as well as their families and carers.

We believe the key to personal well-being is social connectedness and having a community support network around you. We are a community who understand you, accept you and include you. Our mission is to bring people hope, connection and a better quality of life.

Dance Against Dementia helps Umbrella Dementia Cafés™ establish more dementia café programs.
