The Challenge

Dance Against Dementia is the offical fundraiser for Umbrella Dementia Cafés.
Umbrella Dementia Cafés is a registered Health Promotion Charity established to create peer-support groups, called ‘dementia cafes’ for couples, families and people living in the community experiencing dementia.
What Your Dance Moves Can Achieve:
$30 can fund a warm welcome, refreshments, and vital resources for a family attending a Dementia Café session for the very first time.
$100 helps provide specialised training for each volunteer, ensuring they feel safe, motivated and empowered to create purposeful social environments.
$500 can fund a Fortnightly Carer Support Group session, giving 10+ family carers a dedicated space to share knowledge, reduce burnout and find strength within the peer-to-peer support group.
$1,500 can fund a full mentor and coaching program for a regional or rural dementia cafe where resources are at their lowest.
$3,500 helps anchor and sustain an entire community dementia café program for one year!

Yes, Umbrella Dementia Cafés, Australia is a registered charity (ABN 65 628 935 179). Every donation over $2 is tax deductible. When you make a donation to Dance Against Dementia, you will receive a tax receipt via email.

You can sign up now! Click Here To Register. We appreciate all of your support for our fundraising event. Registration for the in person event will close in the days leading up to the event, so stay tuned to our website and socials for our closing date as the event gets closer.

Signing up is easy. Click on the ‘Sign Up’ button at the top of the page and fill in your personal details. You will have the option to either create a new team, join an existing team you have been invited to or you can choose not to create a team and simply dance on your own.

Click on the log-in button at the top of the page and enter the username and password you used when you originally setup your account.

Your username is the email address you used during registration – if you cannot remember the email you registered with please email support@grassrootz.com
It's easy to reset your password, just head to the login page and click "Forgot password?". It'll send you an email, then you'll be on your way. If you didn't receive the email, make sure you check your junk or spam folder. It might take a few minutes to arrive. Host Your Own Event

Click here to register. It’s free to register a ‘Host Your Own’ event. Once you’ve registered, you’ll have the chance to create and share your own Dance Against Dementia event. All donations will contribute to the goal of raising $100k for Umbrella Dementia Cafés.

The freedom is yours to create a dance event that works for you and your team. Have fun with it and set a challenge that excites people to sponsor you!

You can choose to create your own playlist for the event, or we will have Spotify playlists available closer to the event for people who register.

Absolutely! We are fundraising until the end of September, which is Dementia Awareness Month.
We are thrilled to see several teams have already registered a ‘Host Your Own’ event. To get some inspiration, check out the events hosted by Discovering Dance Nillumbik and the Escape Brewing.

There isn’t a deadline to register a ‘Host Your Own’ event. This option is open year round to anyone who wants to contribute to this amazing cause.
